BILL SPLITTING THAT EXPLAINS ITSELF

# Say what happened. We do the math.

Fairly is the bill-splitting app for trips, flats and friends. Snap a receipt, speak a sentence, type a few words. It drafts the fair split, explains itself in plain language, and never moves a cent.

- Free for personal groups · no paid plan

- "dinner was 60, split with ana + marco" → DRAFTED
- RECEIPT → 14 ITEMS → 4 PEOPLE → 1 TAP
- "what does marco owe me" → €28.90
- 12 EXPENSES → 2 TRANSFERS → EVERYONE EVEN
- LEFT MARCO OUT OF THE WINE — HE DOESN'T DRINK
- RENT DAY → SPLIT DRAFTED → APPROVE

## The trip was great. The spreadsheet after it wasn't.

Twelve receipts, four people paying, and a group chat that goes quiet the moment someone asks “so who owes what?”

Fairly makes that question answer itself.

*[Image: Example result for the Lisbon trip: 12 expenses on one ledger, you're owed +€64.52; Ana pays you €35.62 and Marco €28.90. Nothing is sent until you tap.]*

01 · Capture

## Three ways in. Zero forms.

### Snap it

Point at any receipt. Fairly reads every line, assigns items to people, and flags what it couldn't read instead of guessing.

RECEIPT → ITEMIZED IN SECONDS

### Say it

Hands full, leaving the restaurant? One sentence out loud becomes a drafted expense with the split already proposed.

ONE SENTENCE → ONE DRAFT

### Type it

A few words in the intent bar. And when you'd rather fill in fields yourself, manual entry is always one tap away. Never buried.

ESCAPE HATCH INCLUDED

[See all four steps, capture to settle →](https://fairly.day/how-it-works)

*[Image: A drafted expense: Dinner at Ramiro, €142.50, with one blurry receipt line flagged for you to check]*

1. 01 UNSURE? IT ASKS The blurry espresso comes back to you as a question. One tap answers it.
2. 02 WHO HAD WHAT Every line says who shared it. Tap one to change it.
3. 03 THE WHY, IN WORDS Marco's share is smaller, and the draft says why.
4. 04 YOUR TAP, OR NOTHING Nothing reaches the group until you post it.

02 · Fair, visibly

## Every split explains itself.

No black boxes with your money. Fairly says why in one plain sentence, _"left Marco out of the wine, he doesn't drink"_, flags what it's unsure about, and lets you fix anything with a tap.

SURE Clean lines post quietly. You just glance.

UNSURE Blurry lines get flagged for you. Never guessed.

03 · Settle

## A month of chaos. Two transfers.

1. Twelve expenses, four people paying. €502.02 ACROSS THE LISBON TRIP
2. Everyone's share, netted. YOU +€64.52 · BOB ALREADY EVEN
3. Six IOUs become two transfers. ANA → YOU €35.62 · MARCO → YOU €28.90
4. Paid back, recorded. Everyone's even. FAIRLY NEVER MOVES MONEY

12 EXPENSES 2 TRANSFERS 0 AWKWARD CHATS

*[Image: The Lisbon trip: twelve expenses paid by four people come down to two transfers. Ana pays you €35.62, Marco pays you €28.90, and Bob is already even.]*

The settle sheet

Fairly simplifies who owes whom into a short list of transfers, usually one or two for a whole trip, and shows who pays whom and why. You pay each other however you usually do; recording the payment brings everyone's balance up to date. Nothing is shared until you tap.

THE RULE WITH NO TOGGLE

## Fairly never moves money. Nothing goes out without your tap.

An agent you can audit, or no agent at all.

Drafts, not actions The agent prepares splits, settles and reminders. You approve every one that touches money or people.

A log you can audit Everything Fairly does is recorded in Activity, in plain language you can inspect.

Fix what's wrong Edit or correct any expense when something was entered wrong. Corrections stay honest in the history.

04 · For every kind of group

## It learns how your people split.

01THE TRIP GROUP

### [Come home even](https://fairly.day/for/trips)

Twelve expenses, four payers, one tram full of receipts. At the end, one sweep finds what's missing, converts any other currency and explains every share.

LEARNED **Marco is out of the wine** Said once at the first dinner, remembered for the rest of the trip.

02THE HOUSEHOLD

### [Rent day runs itself](https://fairly.day/for/roommates)

Fairly learns the 1st-of-month rent, the shared groceries, and whose protein powder is never shared. You just approve.

LEARNED **Rent €1,650 three ways on the 1st** Drafted the night before, posted when you approve.

03THE DEFAULT PAYER

### [Get paid back without nagging](https://fairly.day/for/friend-groups)

Kind reminders, drafted for you and sent only when you say so. The chasing stops being your job.

LEARNED **Settle when the balance passes €20** Fairly proposes a settle-up when it is worth a transfer, not after every coffee.

04THE ONE-OFF

### [No app? No problem.](https://fairly.day/for-groups#one-off)

Friends who aren't on Fairly get a link that shows what they owe. Once they've paid you, they tap “I've paid” and it's recorded. No account needed.

LEARNED **Visitors settle by link** They see what they owe, pay you back and tap “I've paid”. No download.
