TRUST IS THE PRODUCT

# An agent you can audit, or no agent at all.

Trust in a bill-splitting app comes down to three things: your money, your contacts, and your receipts. Fairly handles all three, so transparency isn't a settings page here. It's the surface you use every day.

The activity log

## Everything that happened. Including what Fairly did.

Every automatic action is logged in plain language, marked AUTO, and expandable to its reasoning. When friends disagree about a split, you're both looking at the same honest history.

## Four promises, built into the interface

PROMISE 01

### Every decision explains itself

One plain sentence, phrased like a person would say it. You never need to understand accounting to trust a number.

PROMISE 02

### Confidence is shown, not faked

A clean receipt line posts quietly. A blurry one is flagged for your eyes. Fairly asks when it's unsure — it never presents a guess as fact.

PROMISE 03

### Fix what's wrong

Edit or correct any expense when something was entered wrong. Corrections are recorded honestly in the history, never hidden.

PROMISE 04

### Consent lives in the flow

Permissions are asked at the moment they pay off, with the reason attached — and revoking is as easy as granting, all in one place.

*[Image: The You screen: three permission toggles for what Fairly can do, and the one rule with no toggle]*

The consent center

## You hold the switches. Except one.

Receipts, learning, contacts — every permission is yours to grant, see, and revoke in one place. The only rule without a toggle is ours: **Fairly never moves money, and never posts to a group or messages anyone without your tap.** That one isn't configurable, and it never will be.

Where your receipts and contacts go, in six short paragraphs: [read the privacy page](https://fairly.day/privacy). How consent shows up in the flow: [see step 2](https://fairly.day/how-it-works).

Who makes it

Fairly is built by Obsurvive, a small product team in Europe. We are making the app we wanted for our own trips and shared flats.

## Questions people ask before trusting it

**Does Fairly move my money?**

No. Fairly works out who pays whom, and you pay each other however you already do, outside Fairly. When a payment is recorded, the group's balances update. Fairly never moves money, and nothing is recorded or shared until someone taps. That rule has no toggle.

**Do my friends need the app?**

No. You can send a friend a link that shows what they owe you and the recent expenses behind it. Once they have paid you, they tap "I've paid" and the payment is recorded in the group's ledger. No signup, no download. Fairly does not move the money itself.

**Is Fairly free?**

Yes. Fairly is free for personal use with friends, flatmates and trips. There is no paid plan today. If one is ever introduced it will be opt-in and clearly priced before you commit to anything, and the free tier will keep working for personal groups.

**Does it work without internet?**

Yes. You can snap a receipt or say an expense in a restaurant basement with no signal. Fairly queues it on your phone and syncs when you are back online, so nothing from the trip goes missing.

**Which payment apps does it work with?**

Any of them, because Fairly does not connect to a payment app. Pay each other by bank transfer, Bizum, cash or however you usually do, then record the payment in Fairly so everyone's balance is right. Fairly is not a wallet and never holds or moves funds.

**What happens to receipt photos?**

Your phone can read the receipt on the device. Where model-assisted reading is available, the photo is sent to Fairly's servers and our AI provider to read the lines. A photo you attach to an expense is stored by Fairly and visible to everyone in the group. You can always type an expense instead.

**Is Fairly a Splitwise alternative?**

Yes, for people who want to split by describing what happened rather than filling in forms. Fairly reads receipts and voice, explains every split in one sentence, simplifies who pays whom into fewer transfers, and sends friends without the app a link to see what they owe. See the honest comparison at /vs/splitwise.

**Which countries does it work in?**

Fairly launches in Spain and Portugal first, in English and Spanish, and works anywhere for recording and splitting expenses in any currency. Because Fairly never moves money, you pay each other with whatever your country uses, and recording a payment works everywhere.
